The short version
- 30 days from delivery to start a return.
- Items must be unworn, in original packaging, with tags attached.
- Free returns within the United States.
- Refunds issued to the original payment method within 5–7 business days of receipt.
- Final-sale, customized, and personalized items are not returnable.
How to start a return
- Sign in to your account and visit Order History. Choose the order, then click Start a return.
- Tell us which items you’re returning and why (we use this only to improve our products).
- Print the prepaid USPS or UPS label we email you.
- Pack items securely in the original box with all tags attached. Drop off at any USPS or UPS location.
Guest checkout? Email returns@opatelier.comwith your order number and we’ll send a return label within one business day.
Refund timeline
- Once your return arrives at our atelier, we inspect it within 2 business days.
- Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method.
- Credit-card refunds typically appear in 5–7 business days.
- Bank-processing time may add another 1–2 days, depending on your card issuer.
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is issued.
Exchanges
We don’t process direct exchanges. If you need a different size, color, or item, return the original for a refund and place a new order. This ensures the item you want is reserved before stock runs out.
Conditions for return
For us to process a refund, returned items must be:
- Unworn and unwashed.
- In their original condition with all tags attached.
- Free of perfume, smoke, deodorant marks, pet hair, or alterations.
- Returned in or with the original packaging (dust bags, boxes).
If a returned item does not meet these conditions, we may refuse the refund or apply a restocking charge of up to 25%. We’ll always contact you first.
Final-sale items
The following are not returnable except for verified manufacturing defects:
- Items marked “Final Sale” on the product page.
- Made-to-order or customized pieces.
- Personalized items (monogrammed, hemmed, etc.).
- Intimate apparel and items where hygiene is a concern.
- Gift cards.
Defective items
If your item arrives damaged or develops a defect within our 90-day warranty window, please email hello@opatelier.comwith your order number and photographs of the issue. We’ll arrange a free replacement, repair, or refund at our discretion.
International returns
International customers are responsible for return shipping costs and any customs declaration. We strongly recommend a tracked, insured carrier — we cannot refund items lost in transit. Once we receive the return, the refund process is the same as domestic.
Late returns
We may accept returns submitted after 30 days at our discretion, typically issued as store credit. Email returns@opatelier.com to discuss.
